God is Holy

God is infinitely Holy. He is pure and undefiled. Holiness is an essential character of God and describes His essence, nature, and perfection.  Fundamentally, He is righteous, blameless, and “perfect”.  The word “perfect” is translated “finished," "whole," or "complete," in the Old Testament. God never sins, nor finds the need to repent of sin.  As for God, his way is perfect" (Psalm 18:30); "The law of God is perfect" (Psalm 19:7). Jesus admonished us in the New Testament to be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect (Matt. 19:21).

Scriptural Context:

Leviticus 11:44 “For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy:”

Ps 145: 17 “The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.”

Rev. 4:8 “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”
