THE ESSENCE OF GOD’S LOVE

1 John. 3:1 "Behold What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons of God; therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is."

The three Christian graces are faith, hope and love.

The Holy Spirit, which dwells in believers, imparts knowledge of God’s presence is us and we become united with Him in love.

Those who respond to God’s love find that love becomes a working force in their lives – bringing into fruition His fruit and the abundant blessings of fellowship with Him.

John 15:

1.I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2.Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away, and every branch that beareth fruit; he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3.Abide in me, and I in you as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
8.Herein is my father glorified that ye bear much fruit; so that ye shall be my disciple.
9.As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
16.Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the father in my name, he may give it your.

Ten Commandments

Thou shall have no other God before me.

We are in covenant with God. We have trouble trying to be our own God. What am I going to do, I am afraid, I tried, I, I….. It is all based in fear.

We are not qualified to be God. We are not qualified to meet our own need.

Take no thought for what you are going to wear. Your Heavenly father is your sustainer.

Loss of joy, peace, longsuffering comes when we don’t
Honor father and mother,

Or when we kill

Or when we steal (God will meet our needs according to His riches in glory)

If we steal, kill, bear false witness, they will make us subject to the devil and bring destruction, separation from God, guilt, separation from others, a live of hardship and a lack of peace.

When we walk in the love of God, our love covenant with Him will cast out fear.

We will have no fear when we depend on God. He meets our needs according to His riches in Glory in Christ Jesus.

Remember, love is the underlying expression of Jesus’ doctrine and heavenly love.

Love builds the church and is the church’s most effective weapon (With loving kindness have I drawn thee).

Love is the perfection of human character. It is the most powerful force in the universe. Without love, all of the various gifts of the Spirit would be of no avail.

1 Corinthians 12:28-31

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, the gifts of healings, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way. The more excellent way, the greatest, gift is love. This is the permanent, necessary edifying one. The most excellent way is the love way.

1 Cor 13:1-3

Though I speak with the tongue of men and of angels and have not love, it profited me nothing.  Love involves the self-giving of one for the highest good of another. Our love for one another proves our love for God.

Love suffereth long – and is kind (Patient and kind)

Love envieth not – does not envy, nor is jealous of others.

Love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up (love does not boast, it is not proud).

Does not behave itself unseeingly _not rude

Seeketh not her own –not selfish

Is not easily provoked -does not become angry quickly.

Thinketh no evil –

Rejoiceth in truth

Beareth all things - knows how to be silent

Believeth all things –not distrustful, but hopeful; looking on the brighter side of things and persons.

Hopeth all things

Endureth all things

And now abideth faith, hope, and love, These three, but the greatest of these is love.

  • Faith and Hope benefit the man.
  • Love places us in the likeness of God
  • Love spreads out and blesses others.
